An old PunBB music forum resurrected as a universal Expo app for iOS, Android and web — Hono + tRPC API, Postgres, and quirky 8-bit NES vibes.

Twenty years of forum history deserved better than a dying PHP install. Pigeonhole migrates the original MySQL dump to Postgres and rebuilds the whole thing as a universal Expo + React Native Web app on a Hono + tRPC API. Original members log in with their original credentials — PunBB's unsalted sha1 passwords are verified once for legacy login, then transparently upgraded to argon2id. Wrapped in an NES-themed NativeWind component kit, including a universal BBCode-to-React renderer for the old posts.
